Tilburg frailty indicator is an instrument which more clearly integrates physical and cognitive fragility.
To integrate physical and cognitive fragility and identify patients in risk of frailty, so that preventive measures can be inserted early.
The indicator is divided in two parts: A, backgrounds faktors, and B, 15 questions to determine fragility. Questions in part B of Tilburg frailty indicator: B1. Physical aspects: 1. Do you feel physically healthy? 2. Have you recently involuntairly lost a lot of weight? (A lot means 6 kg or more during the last six months, or 3 kg or more during the last month). Do you experience problems in your daily life because of: 3. Difficulty walking? 4. Difficulty keeping balance? 5. Hearing loss? 6. Impaired vision? 7. Decreased strength in the hands? 8. Physical fatigue? B2. Cognitive aspects: 9. Do you have memory problems? 10. Have you felt depressed the last month? 11. Have you felt nervous or anxious the last month? 12. Can you handle problems in a good way? B3. Social aspects: 13. Do you live alone? 14. Do you miss having people around you? 15. Do you get enough support from other people? Each question is 0 if the answer is no and 1 if yes. The score indicates frailty if it is ≥5.
