Quick COVID-19 Severity Index (qCSI) predicts 24-hr risk of critical respiratory illness in patients admitted from ED with COVID-19.

Use to record the results for each component parameter and calculate the Quick COVID-19 Severity Index (qCSI) for the patients admitted in the emergency department (ED) with COVID-19. Formula Addition of the selected points: - Repiratory rate, breaths/min: ≤22= 0, 23-28=1, >28= 2 - SpO2 (Pulse oximetry): >92%= 0, 89-92%= 2, ≤88%= 5 - O2 flow rate, L/min: ≤2=0, 3-4=4, 5-6=5. Interpretation: - qCSI Score ≤3= Risk level Low= 4% Risk of critical illness at 24 hrs - qCSI Score 4-6= Risk level Low-intermediate= 30% Risk of critical illness at 24 hrs - qCSI Score 7-9= Risk level High-intermediate= 44% Risk of critical illness at 24 hrs - qCSI Score 10-12= Risk level High= 57% Risk of critical illness at 24 hrs Note: Pulse oximetry defined by oxygen requirement (>10 L/min by low-flow device, high-flow device, non-invasive, or invasive ventilation) or death.

Do not use if the patient's O2 requirement is greater than 6L.
