Pack Years Calculator calculates pack years in patients with any smoking history.

To calculate pack-years in patients with any smoking history.

Use in patients who report any smoking history. Variables: Pack years = number of packs of cigarettes smoked per day x number of years the patient has smoked Note: 1 pack = 20 cigarettes. Interpretation: More pack years correlates with higher lung disease risk, including lung cancer. Consider screening with low-dose CT in patients ≥55 years with ≥30 pack-year history. Counsel patients on smoking cessation.
