Thoracolumbar Injury Classification and Severity Scale (TLICS) classifies thoracolumbar spine injury and provides treatment recommendations.
To classify thoracolumbar spine injury and provides treatment recommendations.
TLICS requires appropriate imaging (at least CT) to determine posterior instability for accurate interpretation. TLICS is based on three parameters: morphology, neurologic involvement and posterior ligamentous complex. Interpretation: TLICS Management 0-3 points Non-operative (recommend bracing) 4 points Non-operative or operative ≥5 points Operative (stabilization with or without fracture reduction as appropriate)
