SMART-COP Score is used to predict the need for intensive respiratory or vasopressor support (IRVS) in community-acquired pneumonia (CAP)

The purpose is to calculate the SMART-COP (Systolic BP, Multi-lobar involvement on chest x-ray, Albumin, Respiration Rate, Tachycardia, Confusion, Oxygen low, pH level) Score and predict the need for IRVS in CAP.

This is used in patients ≥18 years with clinical and radiographic findings consistent with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). This is used in patients above 18 years and is not applicable in immunocompromised patients
