To determine severity of GI bleeding.

Use in patients with clinical upper GI bleeding who have undergone endoscopy. Rockall Score formula: Addition of the selected points. Variables and assigned points: - Age: <60 years=0 , 60-79 years =1, ≥80 years =2 - - Shock: No shock (SBP ≥100 AND HR <100)=0, Tachycardia (SBP ≥100 AND HR ≥100)=1, Hypotension (SBP <100)=2 - Comorbidities: No major comorbidity=0, Any comorbidity EXCEPT renal failure, liver failure, and/or disseminated malignancy=2, Renal failure, liver failure, and/or disseminated malignancy=3 - Diagnosis: Mallory-Weiss tear=0, No lesion identified and no stigmata of recent hemorrhage=0, All other diagnoses=1, Malignancy of upper GI tract=2 - Major stigmata of recent hemorrhage: None=0, Dark spot only=0, Blood in upper GI tract=2, Adherent clot=2, Visible or spurting vessel=2 Interpretation: Score 0= Low Risk= Rebleed 4.9%= Mortality 0% Score 1= Low Risk= Rebleed 3.4%= Mortality 0% Score 2= Intermediate Risk= Rebleed 5.3%= Mortality 0.2% Score 3= Intermediate Risk= Rebleed 11.2%= Mortality 2.9% Score 4= Intermediate Risk= Rebleed 14.1%= Mortality 5.3% Score 5= High Risk= Rebleed 24.1%= Mortality 10.8% Score 6= High Risk= Rebleed 32.9%= Mortality 17.3% Score 7= High Risk= Rebleed 43.8%= Mortality 27% Score≥8 = High Risk= Rebleed 41.8%= Mortality 41.1%

Cannot be used for patients who have not completed endoscopy.
