Calculates daily energy expenditure.

Basal energy expenditure (BEE) is the amount of energy (kcal/day) that a person needs to keep the body functioning at rest. It is estimated from different equations using weight (kg), height (cm), age (years) and gender (male vs female). Stress, activity, illness, trauma, burns, cancers can increase daily caloric requirement. The Basal Energy Expenditure must be multiplied by activity and stress factors to calculate total caloric requirement. The calculator will calculate the Basal Energy Expenditure and Harris-Benedict Recommended Caloric Intake in kcal/day. Harris–Benedict equations: -BEE = 66.4730 + ( 13.7516 x weight in kg ) + ( 5.0033 x height in cm ) - ( 6.7550 x age in years ); for males -BEE = 655.0955 + ( 9.5634 x weight in kg ) + ( 1.8496 x height in cm ) - ( 4.6756 x age in years ); for females
