Assessment of Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Score with ESR (ASDAS-ESR). Stratifies severity of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) using clinical and laboratory data, specifically ESR.
To record the data of Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Score with ESR.
Use to record data for ASDAS-ESR. The score is based on five parameters: Back pain, duration of morning stiffness, patient global assessment of disease activity, peripheral pain/swelling and ESR (Erythrocyte sedimentation rate). Other than ESR, all values are self-reported by the patient and therefore subjective. All variables, except ESR, should be graded on a scale of 0 (least severe) to 10 (most severe). The score is calculated from: ASDAS-ESR = (0.08 x back pain) + (0.07 x duration of morning stiffness) + (0.11 x patient global assessment of disease activity) + (0.09 x Peripheral pain/swelling) + (0.29 x √(ESR)).
