ACEF-II_Score v.1

ACEF II Risk score predicts 30-day mortality after elective or emergency cardiac surgery. It is based on 5 variables, Age, Serum creatinine, ejection fraction, need for emergency surgery and hematocrit.

The purpose to calculate the ACEF II Risk Score and predict 30-day operative mortality.

The Score is calculated using 5 variables. 1. Age (A) in years 2. Serum creatinine (C) : 2 points if >2.0 mg/dL (177 µmol/L); 0 if ≤2.0 mg/dL as last recorded before surgery 3. Ejection Fraction (EF): Left ventricular ejection fraction, %, on most recent assessment 4. Emergency surgery (ES) : 3 points if yes; 0 if no; Emergency = operation required before the beginning of the next working day after decision to operate 5. Hematocrit (Hct): 0 if hematocrit ≥36%, 0.2 x (36 - hematocrit) if hematocrit <36%; Last recorded value before surgery ACEF II Risk Score = (A/EF) + C + ES + Hct x-variable = 0.75 * ACEF II Risk Score – 4.86 Predicted 30-days operative mortality = e^x / (1 + e^x)
